Sparks of Inspiration: Our Origin Story
Our collective of philanthropy experts came together to address three opportunities — or sparks of inspiration — we saw to create foundational change in philanthropies that position them to achieve their full potential:
Put simply, we saw a different way of doing philanthropy — one that was more impactful, inspiring, and joyful. And we set out to support philanthropies who share our vision.
Today, The Convive Collective is a diverse team of experts from across the philanthropic sector. We work as a light-hearted and hopeful, yet purpose-driven collective that is excited to support climate-focused philanthropies in learning how to create greater impact. Together, Convive and the philanthropies we work with create amazing things — and have fun doing it.
Our Purpose
We created The Convive Collective to instill and embed an ongoing culture of learning within philanthropies, help them see the big picture and connect the dots they can’t see, and work with them to get unstuck, be more effective, and create greater impact. Supporting philanthropies is our calling. Our work is our contribution to the global fight to reverse climate change and ensure the future of a healthy and vibrant Earth.
As people who feel a deep connection to the living world, we understand the existential threat of climate change. That’s why we focus our efforts on this area of philanthropy. While we are happy to work with other philanthropies that align with our values, passions, and skills, our expertise is best suited to climate-focused philanthropies.

We love nothing more than clear communication! You can expect that we will communicate our intentional, nuanced, and detailed ideas and feelings to you. When we don’t understand something (happens a lot!), we have the courage to ask kindly and directly. We communicate with our clients at all times — this includes commitments to the quality and timeliness of our work, as well as to what the data tells us, even when it’s not a pretty picture.
